Aikido

Aikido is a Japanese martial art developed by Sensei: Morihei Ueshiba ("O Sensei"), who was born in Japan on December 1883. "Aikido" is considered as one of the martial art and self defence style, where it could be applied against armed or disarmed opponents.

The word "Aikido" is divided in to three parts in the Japanese language (Ai – Ki – D0). "Ai" means coordination and harmony and technically means coordination between mind and body. "Ki" means inner energy of both mind and body and the part "Do" means the way..

In a physical level "Aikido" is an art involving some throws and joint locks. Aikido includes the study of bare hands techniques (Taijutsu), as well as Japanese sword (Bokken), stick (Jo) and knife (Tanto)
